Please remember, all hamsters need a base hamster mix.

All fruit, vegetable and plants are treats or supplements to their diet. By no means should a hamster live on a diet of fresh food alone.

Dave's absolute favourites: Brocolli - Rocket - Popcorn - Digestive Biscuits!

Remembering how small Daves are, how small their stomachs are and that they have the habit of storing their food, all fresh food should be fed in very small quantities once a week however our Dave loves fresh veg and has it at least 5 times a week!  As your Dave becomes used to a diet including fresh food, you can increase it to maybe 2 or 3 portions a week (so the experts say!*.

Dave's record of 'stored' food: 1.6k!

Dave's eyes are bigger than his belly so if you give them the chance to take more, they will do. They 'pouch' then scuttle off to their nest (house/tissue box etc) , but there it will get stored and go mouldy and slimey and can make your Dave ill. Try to check regularly that there is no rotting food. He wont be happy, but remove the rottten food and replace with a handfull of dry mix.
